From tech to tourism, businesses in the Greenville were recognized as statewide leaders.
Several Greenville-based businesses and organizations earned top-three statewide honors at the fifth annual South Carolina Best in Business Awards, reinforcing the city’s reputation as one of South Carolina’s most dynamic economic hubs. The awards are organized by Community Journals Media Group.
Known for its growing base of innovative, technology-driven companies, Greenville claimed two of the state’s top three spots in the information technology category. ANC Group and Fusion Audio + Video were recognized for their leadership, innovation and impact in a sector that continues to fuel the region’s growth and competitiveness.
Greenville also stood out in tourism, an industry where the region has long been a leader. VisitGreenville SC and the Greenville Drive captured two of the top three tourism-focused honors.
VisitGreenville SC has built a reputation for positioning Greenville as an internationally-recognized destination, helping the city attract major sporting events, conferences and conventions. Those efforts have resulted in Greenville hosting events such as the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament and, coming in 2028, the U.S. Bowling Congress Open Championships.
The Greenville Drive celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year and welcomed its six millionth fan. Since 2006, the team has generated an estimated $300 million in economic impact and has served as a catalyst for growth in Greenville’s West End and throughout downtown.
Additional awards highlighted excellence in education, workforce development and transportation. Greenville Technical College was named Best Technical College, while Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport was recognized as Best Regional Airport.
The food and beverage sector also saw Greenville excellence on display. Fireforge Crafted Beer earned top honors in three categories: Best Environmentally Responsible Company, Best Family-Owned Business and Best Food and Beverage Company.
