Summer Zoo Camp Themes
Rising Kindergarten Through 1st Grade - Half Day Camps (9 am - 12 pm)
• Wild Contrast- Fast and slow, short and tall, big and small. What do all these words have in common? They are opposites! Campers will learn about contrasting traits in the animal kingdom. Come explore how opposites shape the lives of creatures around us!
• It’s a Bug World! - Join us for an unforgettable camp where we uncover the secret, playful side of bugs; from buzzing bees to beautiful butterflies! Campers will learn the incredible importance of these critters, and understanding that while bugs may be small, they run the world in a mighty big way!
Rising 2nd Through 3rd Grade - Half Day Camps (9 am - 12 pm)
• Super Animals!- Boom! Pow! Together we will discover amazing animal superpowers, like the lightning-fast speed of a cheetah, or the incredible camouflage of an octopus. Campers will learn about animal adaptations, survival skills, and the importance of appreciating animals and their superpowers!
• Who Dung It?- Don your detective gear and figure out ‘Who Dung It’ in this unusual camp! Campers will go on scat-venger hunts, do experiments, and solve the case to learn that there is more to scat than meets the eye and nose.
Rising 4th Through 5th Grade - Half Day Camps (9 am - 12 pm)
• To the Extreme!- From inside a volcano to frozen in ice, there are some animals who live life to the extreme! Join us as we discover survival skills, conduct extreme experiments, and meet extraordinary animal friends.
• Critter Conquerors! - Animal invaders are all around us! So, how are invasive species so good at taking over a habitat? Explore conquering critters around the world and what makes them so good at calling anywhere home.
Rising 6th Through 8th Grade - Half Day Camps (9 am - 12 pm)
• Jr. Zoologist - Let's become a Zoologist! Participants will explore zoology science and the different studies and research that can be done to aid wildlife conservation and zookeeping. Join us as we get our hands dirty and learn what life is like studying animals and how to save them!
Beyond Camp: Real Zoo Experiences Starts Here
Do you have a child over 14 years old who loves the Zoo? Teens 14-17 years old can volunteer in the Zoo's Education Department. You might be just out of range for summer camp, but this is the perfect opportunity for you to start gaining real zoo experience! Become a Teen Volunteer: help us run zoo events, enjoy amazing animal encounters, and start building your resume while having a blast!

Zoo Camp Scholarship
Greenville Zoo Summer Camp Scholarships are available only to City of Greenville residents who can demonstrate financial need. To be considered for a scholarship, eligible participants must complete the application and provide all necessary documentation.
Please be aware that scholarships are not guaranteed, as they are limited in number. Applications will be reviewed based on financial need and processed on a first-come, first-served basis. All information provided on this form will remain confidential.
Complete a separate form for each child you are requesting a scholarship for. All information must be complete and accurate. Only current South Carolina EBT/TANF card holders are eligible. Please attach photo proof of SC EBT or TANF benefits card with a matching guardian name.
The Greenville Zoo Camp is an inclusive, half-day program running from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Please note that extended care or transportation is not provided. To apply, complete the Zoo Camp Scholarship Application.
